I have a fantasy: a teacher who managed to schedule field trips and special activity days (which she did to appease her Empress, Ms. Woke Principal, who demanded a school wide "Pajama Day") to conflict with Drag Queen Story Hour. Teacher then said, "My class is behind academically! I can't spare that hour to do non-academic work, sorry!" Ms. Woke Principal came by and said, "Parents are going to talk. We need Dairy Queen time to happen in your room!" Teacher said, "Ok, fine. But I choose the reading material. I have my fairy tale unit and it has to be one of mine."
DQ "lady" is handed Penny Allen's version of The Emperor's New Body as "she" sits down before the class. Teacher offers to sign the story as DQ "lady" reads to the class, keeping DQ on task. No "twerking."
